In order for a website to be available on the internet, it needs to be hosted somewhere. The Digital Orchard provides two flavors of website hosting - Managed and Self-Serve.
With managed hosting, your website is installed on one of our high-performance, high-security web servers (provided in partnership with TopFloor Systems and Rackspace). Generally, this option is chosen for all of our xAppOS-based websites, but other types of websites are supported, as well. However, with this approach, access is tightly restricted and is evaluated and authorized on a per-client basis.
If you want to manage your own website, then we put you onto our high-capacity cPanel-based server that has been in reliable operation for many years and has served our clients' needs well over that time. With this option, you gain access to a control panel for managing your website and are given your own unique credentials (username and password) for uploading your files. This option is best for those choosing to use other website platforms, such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal.
The Digital Orchard provides the same level of customer support to all our clients, regardless of how their website is hosted. By using a variety of servers and hosting environments, we can provide the best possible experience for our clients and ensure there's no single point of failure. This means better uptime of your website.
