Optimizing for the Internet

Written by Ted on Feb 13, 2010

Over the past few months, a significant transformation has been taking place within my business and the businesses of my clients. Social Media and Networking. Never before has Search Engine Optimization (SEO) been so important. People aren't just coming from their couches to surf the web, they are coming from the comforts of their social networks. With search engines providing near-real-time results, it's increasingly important to keep our sites ahead of the curve in terms of relevancy.

To tackle this problem, I've been developing a strategic piece of software that's been running on a limited number of client sites for the past few months. I'm not going to give away its secrets other than to say that it's gone beyond what Google Analytics and Awstats tell us, and actively helps us to optimize individual pages on our clients sites in real time. It lets our visitors do the optimizing without even knowing it.

The next few months is going to be exciting as this software evolves and I unveil an administrative interface to this softare that can be used by my clients and fellow team mates.
